Coastguard Rescue Teams
Back>>

Dover lifeboat's crew is lucky to work on the patch of not just one but three Coastguard Rescue Teams (CRT). The CRTs are made up of volunteers, formerly known as Auxillary Coastguards. They are very much the public face of the Coastguard. They are trained and equipped by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, often attending the same incidents as the lifeboats working in complimentary roles. At Dover we regularly see officers from the Folkestone, Deal and Langdon teams. Each team depending on their local coastline are trained and equipped to deal with the terrain. Officers often attend the lifeboat station to take details when a vessel is towed in.
