Joining the RNLI is a family tradition for Steve as both his grandfather and father were crewmen on the Penlee lifeboat in Cornwall. When he isn't presenting his early morning show for BBC Radio Kent, or at the boathouse, Steve is also a retained fireman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
